Celebrating 5 Years of Pratidhwani: CommuniCon 2023 Sets the Stage for Advancement in the field of Communication Disorders
Posted By : Pratidhwani
In a journey filled with dedication, determination, and a passion for transforming lives, Pratidhwani commemorated its 5th anniversary since its inception in 2018. To mark this remarkable milestone, the we initiated an annual academic program dedicated to the field of communication disorders, known as CommuniCon. The inaugural edition, CommuniCon 2023, was held on 29th July at Hotel Palacio, Guwahati, and proved to be a momentous occasion in the field of Audiology and Speech – Language Pathology.
Uniting Experts for a Common Cause:
Under the theme ‘My Child is Not Talking’, CommuniCon 2023 brought together a diverse group of professionals, including audiologists, speech-language pathologists, paediatricians, ENT specialists, clinical psychologists, and occupational therapists. This convergence of expertise was aimed at addressing the challenges faced by children with language development delays and devising ethical practice guidelines for their holistic care.
Empowering the Community through Interactive Sessions:
The event featured several interactive sessions that delved into the complexities of communication disorders affecting children, such as hearing loss, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, aphasia, and more. Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions, sharing insights from their respective fields, and explored innovative approaches to enhance clinical outcomes.
A Vision for the Future:
Looking ahead, we envision CommuniCon as an annual event with the aim to expand the scope of the program by incorporating more academic sessions, hands-on workshops, and training courses. We hope that CommuniCon also serves as common platform for medical and allied health professionals to come together to advance the clinical care of individuals with communication disorders and contribute to their improved quality of life.
Closing Thoughts:
The journey of Pratidhwani over the past five years has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride—filled with challenges, hard work, and moments of pure joy. The inception of CommuniCon reflects our passion to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by communication disorders. As the first edition of CommuniCon concludes, the participants carry with them a renewed sense of purpose and an even stronger determination to create a more inclusive and compassionate world for children with speech, language & hearing impairments, as well as their families.
